I think that the fact that america's children are the future of the nation kept them going. Even with little or no pay they knew that the only way that the United States was only going to get fixed by teaching the next generations how to fix the mistakes that the previous generation had made.
They also knew how important it was for the children to get an education because without it they would not be able to have a future.
If I was a teacher right now and a great depression situation happened and we stopped getting paid i would take into consideration my family. If we could keep on our feet without me getting paid then i would probably keep teaching and coaching. If it would be impossible to keep my family fed and paying the bills I would have to find another job. Maybe a police officer or something. My family would play a major part in my decision to keep teaching with little or no pay.

The Water Is Wide Reflection
Recently we viewed the video, The Water is Wide, in my Principles of Education and Training class.
You will find my responses to the blog prompt below.
6.
1. The students couldn't really read or write and were taught discipline over anything else.
2.The other teacher wanted the students to be taught discipline and not what the kids actually had to learn. She also was scared that she would loose her job as the teacher because she was a african american woman in the white south.
3.Most of the parents did not want the kids to goto Washington. They didn't trust Conroy.
7. Mr. Conroy is a leader by fighting for the permission to get the kids to go to the field trip.
He is honest and hardworking by telling the other teacher that she isn't doing her job right and he took action by teaching the kids in the correct way. He is also goal oriented by knowing what the kids need to learn .

The Leader In Me.
Leadership Observed
A teacher is able to get along with others and respects individuals no matter what there points of view are. A teacher also knows his or her weaknesses just like any other captain or leader does. They both must be hard working people to show that they have what it takes to fill the roles of both teacher and leaders. They must be responsible for there actions and step up when they make a mistake.
The Teacher shows leadership by going out of his or her way by staying after school and helping kids who have fallen a bit behind. They can give advice if a student is going through some hard times and another excellent example of a teacher showing leadership is that one of my teachers said that he used to have a student that wore the same 3 shirts everyday to school and he felt bad so he went to go buy him some more so he could have more clothes to take to school,
My Leadership in Action
I play soccer outside of school and i used to always want to be captain of the team. The coach told us that we are all the captains and that we should all give each other advice when when we have made a mistake. I used to get mad if someone got greedy with the ball and took a shot instead of passing but now i'm just glad we had a shot at goal and tell my teammate good try and encourage him to take more shots. I have been able to be more patient and have controlled my anger when things aren't going my way. I learned to be a little more poised.
Messi has been a fantastic leader and teacher to his teammates whenever he is playing for his country. He stands up for his teammates when they are given a card for something that didn't deserve that punishment from a referee.

Iker Casillas is a perfect example of a leader. He has won everything when it comes to soccer. The World Cup, the Euros and has also lost alot but everytime he has lost with his team he is always positive that they will go out and win it the next time. When he retired from international soccer everyone could tell that he was going to miss his playing for his teamates and for his country, because he could barely talk simply because he was fighting back tears.
An Interview With Mr. Burdock
